Smart Office IoT Deployment – Zurich & Baar Offices

To modernize workplace operations and enhance energy efficiency, our client engaged us to design and implement a comprehensive IoT-based smart office solution across their Zurich and Baar offices. The project aimed to integrate multiple IoT devices and gateways into a unified system, enabling real-time monitoring and intelligent control of environmental and occupancy factors.

Implemented IoT Solutions

  • Room Climate Control Sensors & Gateways

Installed advanced climate sensors connected via IoT gateways, enabling precise monitoring of temperature, humidity, and air quality. This allowed the client to maintain an optimal working environment while improving HVAC energy efficiency.

  • Occupancy Management (VergeSense Sensors)

Deployed VergeSense occupancy sensors across office spaces to monitor desk utilization, meeting room occupancy, and overall space usage patterns. These were integrated with their respective gateways to provide real-time occupancy insights.

  • Motion Sensors

Implemented PIR-based motion detection sensors throughout offices for smart lighting automation and enhanced workplace security.

  • Entry Gateway Sensors

Installed intelligent entry/exit sensors at access points, providing visibility over foot traffic flow, visitor tracking, and secure access monitoring.

Challenges

Multi-Device Integration – Different sensor types required a standardized communication protocol and reliable gateway setup for seamless interoperability.

Network Security – Ensuring secure connectivity between IoT devices and the corporate network while protecting against unauthorized access.
